Population

Ten young men immersed in water at 32 °C, 20 °C, and 14 °C for one hour

Exposure conditions

14 °C and 20 °C water immersion. One hour.

Outcome measured

Plasma norepinephrine, dopamine, cortisol, metabolic rate, heart rate, blood pressure

Limitations

Small sample (n = 10), young male participants only, water immersion at 14 °C is not dry cold containment. The magnitude and direction of responses cannot be assumed for other methods or populations.
