The Cold Shift

Chapter 07 · System

The cold needs a container.

The Ice Sack is the physical system behind Neuropause. It turns cold into a defined, dry, time-bound practice.

Input · Structure · Exit

A delivery system, not a promised outcome.

Cold is the sensory input. Neuropause provides the attentional structure. The Ice Sack brings the two together in one bounded session.

Its role is specific: provide broad dry cold contact, hold the session to a defined format, and make the beginning and ending clear. What a person experiences inside that format can vary.

The system sequence

From stored cold to deliberate exit.

  1. 01

    Prepare

Freeze the system fully. The phase-change material stores the thermal input before the session begins.

  2. 02

    Contain

Zip into the soft outer shell. The hex-grid core places dry cold across a broad area without water, filling, or drainage.

  3. 03

    Practice

Tap the NFC mark to begin Neuropause. Entry, Load, and Peak organize attention across one defined nine-minute session.

  4. 04

    Exit

End at nine minutes or sooner when needed. Unzip, rewarm naturally, and notice what changed without prescribing what you should feel.

Product evidence boundary

Related research is context. Product testing is evidence.

What the wider field can tell us

Research can explain how humans detect cold, how responses vary, and how different forms of cooling have been studied. Findings from water immersion, cryotherapy, or localized icing do not automatically establish what The Ice Sack does.

What must be measured directly

Thermal delivery, contact behavior, tolerability, protocol use, and any product-specific outcome require evidence collected with the actual system under defined conditions.

What comes next

Build the product record in public.

The category becomes credible when product questions become testable questions. BHVD intends to publish methods, results, and limitations as direct system testing is completed.

  • 01Cold-core temperature over time
  • 02Skin-contact temperature by body region
  • 03Contact consistency across fit profiles
  • 04Session tolerability and stop conditions
  • 05Protocol completion and adherence
  • 06Reported experience before, during, and after use
