A meta-analysis found pooled cardiovascular and HRV changes after water immersion and cryostimulation, while also identifying method and participant dependence. A skin-cooling suit study showed no heart-rate change despite a pressor response.

Limitations

The included methods do not represent dry cold containment. Pooled effects should not be converted into a universal phase-by-phase response.
